Two Of My Favorite Barns

Two Of My Favorite Barns

Went out this morning to see if there was anything to shoot and ran by a couple of my favorite barns I love.  Both are abandoned on the prairie of Iowa and are getting a wonderful patina to the tin skin they both have.  The one on the cover image now has open doors from a couple of years ago and this does not bode well for its future.  The other has not changed much since it garnered my attention and affection three years ago and still is very photogenic.  A shame they are no longer used for their original purpose and are now only part of the changing landscape of Iowa.

The Visit to North Shore

The Visit to North Shore

It has been a week since my trip up to the western shores of Lake Superior along North Shore Drive in northern Minnesota.  I was treated with nasty weather the first day as it felt more like April than May.  The winds were blowing straight from the east and the lake surface was covered in white caps.  To add to it there was a rain mist off and on again.  Glad I brought my wet gear and a winter coat.

Spit Rock Lighthouse offered up some nice images even with the cloudy skies.  Gooseberry Falls not far from there was flowing fast and hard.

I spent two nights in Two Harbors and one in Grand Marais.  My favorite place was Grand Marais as the location was perfect and the fog and nasty weather pulled out of the area at about the time of my arrival.  I managed to capture some of the fog being blown against the hills south of town and they formed archways.

The beauty that is offered in northern Minnesota is never ending and I am looking forward to my return there as soon as time allows.

I am not posting images this week but will embed this slideshow video of the trip and, as always, all images are available for purchase at all four of my print on demand sites.
